After messing this attempt up (2 times)at starting a poll i think i have finally got it right. A plugin picker like you would find in FL Studio or Reason would be very very useful and much easier on the eye. Having to trawl through a long list is pretty hard on the eyes. Thanks for looking. Would you use this feature?.

If Reaper wouldn't have a plugin filter I'd probably voted yes. But I got so used to using the filter and it's probably faster for me than using a plugin picker, so voted no.

the plugin picker in FL Studio is very attractive, but honestly I probably wouldn't use one. I've got my own custom icons set up right on the main screen.

If you could make a plugin picker that integrates the preset library of each plugin, that would be nice. There's a tool that already does that by Bigtick . Perhaps that's worth pushing for integration in to Reaper. I'm all for getting to my sounds and processors quicker. So far I'm using the filter in Reapers FX browser which is just crazy fast for finding processors. Whatever the FL plugin picker does right, maybe we can mooch ideas from it that improve what Reaper already does, or takes it to the next level. Keep in mind that you want to destroy as little existing functionality as possible, but don't be afraid to push a bit. I do that all the time and it pays off.

I don't know what exactly you mean by 'plugin-picker', but many improvements can be made to 'plugin-picking' in Reaper :)
