Yes - anyone got any experience with this? If general is the wrong forum, mods please put this post in it's proper place. Anyways, I've heard of a rather successful project with kickstarter involved. Maybe I will give it a try. What do you think? My project would be to release a single with two tracks - shouldn't be that expensive. Bet I can do it for 2 - 3 grand. Good idea? Not?

My band used it to fund an album. We raised over $3K, which covered over half the cost. I think we had about 35 backers or so, but honestly, my dad pledged $500, and the drummer's dad did too I think (or maybe even more). I don't know if we would have made our goal without that. But it did work anyway. It's legitimate for sure. Best of luck!

The biggest thing for kickstarter is "show not tell". You'd have to film a big ole' documentary style video, detailing how much you've written, talking about the process so far, showing samples and clips of things you've already done and showing how awesome it'd be to finish it. Go browse the successful projects and you'll note they all have killer videos that both explain everything and prove that the authors are already "worthy". There's a lot more involved of course, but if you don't reach that minimum you're probably sure to fail.

Thanks guys. Well, it will happen one way or another. I'll have a look at the site. Anyways, this would be my plan B. I may very well be able to pull it off myself. No worries.

msea, thanks, always good to hear. So you say, hm? I'll see what I can do, if I ever find that particular session again. Or it's done. It is what it is. Move on. Etc... the Swedish version remains to be done, I will have what you say in mind. I'll record it soon, I just want to get warmed up a bit. To the chchchanges. :D

That is the famous writer Jorge Louis Borges - one of my favourites. I had my face up there for sometime. Nobody objected... but... I got tired of avatars. For a while. Besides, I always wanted to be somebody else.

Very interesting. An anti-communist celibataire. Maybe I'll check him out in the library!
