Record one track into another

Hi guys This is what I want: I have one track with a nice nice WAV that I manualy manipulate with a Wah vst, the output I want to record in a second track. I tried a lot but it does not record. What am I doing wrong?

Create a send to the new track, right click on the Record/Arm button for the new track and choose one of the "Record Output" options, Arm the track and hit record.

Or, you can right click on the track, and render to stem track (muting original)

you could also look at "apply fx to item as new take", which would create a new take for the item with the FX without the need for a 2nd track.

you don't even have to route to another track, just set the track to "monitor media while recording" and enable record output on the track
