Hi, I recently purchased the Mbox and a Behringer BCF-2000 USB/MIDI controller surface. I cannot get this thing to work. Do any of you have the Behringer controller? I've been told that I could use the MAckie HUI settings to run it... but it's a Behringer unit, so I don't know. I installed the MIDI drivers and everything. When I go into SETUPS > PERIPHERALS > MIDI CONTROLLERS... I select HUI for #1 in the list, then I set the recieve and send to the BCF Unit. But after closing the setup window, I still get "ProTools is unable to communicate with HUI". Where do I start? What am I missing? (I am running ProTools LE 6.1.1 on a WinXP system). If I can't use the Mackie preset.... how do I assign my own MIDI numbers and all that stuff? Keep in mind I know pretty much nothing about MIDI, so if any of you could point me in the right direction, I'd be grateful! Thank you, Jesse
I believe so... set to USB mode 1 (not stand alone). The book shows the other USB modes (2, 3, and 4) to run with configurations of midi instruments as well as a PC. I'm only running the PC. Is that what you mean?
To boot up in HUI mode? Do you know how to do this specifically on the BCF? I know the firmware I installed supports the Baby HUI... but I can't figure out how to set it to the Baby HUI. Do you own the BCF yourself?

Yes, I own the BCF. Use it at home with my Nuendo set-up. And at work with PT's. Make sure you have the latest firmware downloaded available at the Behringer website. Then You need to hold down the 5th button that's right under the top row of the rotary encoders while powering up. The unit shgould then be in Baby Hui mode. There's a PDF thate explains it when you download the 1.6 update.
thank you very much bigbadhenchman! that worked perfectly (and made my day). now i cant figure out what all the buttons do. theres some i dont know. do you have a pdf or a map of what does what when using the BCF with ProTools? again, thanks a lot... and merry christmas
