Hiya, I've read a few threads related to this product, watched a few reviews on youtube, and this seems to be something that will save me a whole load of grief. Only thing that bothers me is their website only mentions it requiring Windows XP>7, so I'm a little 'nervous' about whether it would be okay with W10. So, do any of you who use one, run Windows 10? Can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work, unless USB1.1 isn't supported - I'm not the ezpert... Aside from that, the driver that's been compiled by the chaps here... is that easy to install? Cheers in advance of any guidance.
For the original faderport we have a custom driver we wrote that expands the functionality exponentially. Search for FaderportXT. For the Faderport 8, I do not know how well our driver works with that one but I'm assuming the basic stuff may. Yes it is fairly easy to install but you must follow the instructions precisely and not assume anything. ;) Here it is...
Works fine for me on windows 10. Make sure you have some USB2.0 ports though, and not all USB3, as I can't get the motor control to work on USB3 ports.
It won't work with the Faderport 8 Windows 10. I tried everything. You can get"some" functions to work,But basically not worth it. After much frustration I returned it and went back to the Beringer BCF 2000, and the single Faderport, which works fine,Except I can't get the footswitch to work on either unit.Hope this helps. It also comes with Studio One-3, which I can't make heads or tails of.And I'm not going to try to learn a new DAW when Reaper does everything I need.
Okay, Faderport arrived (finally) yesterday morning. Registered, plugged in, good to go... No driver to install, firmware up to date, spent the afternoon dicking about with a 'test project' to get a feel for what it does. Only issue is the shift button won't 'hold'. This morning, installed the 'XT files' - the truth is out there somewhere ;) - and the shift now holds - hurrah! - but, for now, I'd like to keep to the standard button config... for now, while I get used to using it. I haven't dug any deeper than making sure the XT setup worked, other than I know the shift holds, the fader works and the pan works, but opposite to standard - ie. shift/pan for panning, pan for scrolling. So, is it easy to switch that around and are the rest of the buttons in the standard config. - this is a case of editing the .ini file, right? Thanks for any and all guidance. EDIT: Holy cow. What a work of genius. Editing couldn't be much simpler - I guess the real clever/headscratching stuff is in the .dll file? Massive thumbs up to all thse involved in the compilation of these files.
