Sun Roof

The sun roof on my 965 has never opened fully , just tilted , and that has never been a problem, until now. I need to clear the drains as with the amount of rain of late, water is finding its way in. Does anyone know of a sun roof repair company in or around Birmingham? mike

check the rubber seal around the opening in your roof, sometimes you can get a build up of dirt and even moss under the rubber and this can cause the seal to let water through. I discovered this many years ago on an oldish car i owned.

Sun roof 

Hi, Is your roof electric or manually operated? If electric I believe you can hand crank it after removing the motor cover in the head lining. BTW Have you looked in the sunroof section of the 7/900 FAQ? All the best, Ben

Hi Ben, Mine is electric , but I am reluctant to put too much strain on the mechanism , I am also worried that it will start to move then jam,leaving me in the mire. mike

If you try this link it should give you all the details you need to sort out your problem. I have a 760 with electric sunroof and removed it using instructions from here so that I could recover the roof lining. It is also possible to remove the sunroof lining and sunroof from the vent position which should give access to the mechanism and the drains. Hope this is helpful. Stephen.
