Rencoding problems

I have a two fold problem. First I nab a season of a tv show and it's a *hair* too big to fit on a DVD-R. I do mean litterally a hair. 4,550mb to be written, 4,489Mmb available. So what does a person do, rebit rate one or all of them down by a few 100bps to get it down to size, right? Wrong! The encoder used VBR audio and VirtualDub freaks out and throws the audio synch out the window. So I need to know how do I go about re encoding these DivX AVIs down with out loosing the audio synch. I really don't have 40gb or more to completely decompress then recompress the AVI. Anyone can help? Thanks! BelGarion

I am sensing a dark forboding here... As if I am about to get persecuted instead of helped. Alright, fine, I'll go back to lurking again and look for help elsewhere for help on reencoding DivX AVI with VBR audio with out losing the audio synch. *tips imaginary hat* BelGarion
