But generally: don't underestimate these German 50's bundled-with-reel-to-reel-recorder mics! There's a Grundig ribbon which is absolutely awesome, and several Telefunken/Grundig/Sennheiser (?) mics with the same capsule element as the classic Sennheiser E609 for example. You can get those pretty often for less than 5 Euros on the flea markets here.

Do you play harmonica? Probably could get some uber classic old-time Delta blues sound out of it as well... just like it does on your reso guitar. Good work mate! Thanks for the mention in your video :D:D :) Jedi
^That the mic does sound great, gav. To me as good as in any radio production, if not in the same way. I want one! Does it have a stand mount or do you hold it while you sing or put it on a desk? I can't tell from the pictures.

I suppose since it's my first post I should say hi...so, hi! I just wanted to add that you shouldn't worry about the "Z" of something unless you have a fixed Z input. And since everyone these days has a DI box or a guitar amp lying around as well as the usual mic pre or mixer, we all have plenty of ways of handling high Z loads and low Z loads. I've an old carbon mic with a mono jack out that sounds pretty great through a dirty amp - you can get those raspy, feedbacky vocal sounds not far off Pixie's "Something Against You"! Plus it's stomp box freindly!
Yeah I've actually had a few vocal tracks ran through AmpliTube for that kind of sound! Had one Reggae band that did it on almost every track of their EP!
