a little help with a buying decision

please help me out folks... i have a digi 001 that i am about to sell so i can buy a digi002 (not the rack).. now i was also looking at the tascam dm24.. if i keep my digi001 and buy the tascam dm24 i will have hui emulation and a fully functional digital mixer.... i know the 002 is a digital mixer also but it doesnt come with built in efx like the dm24... can anyone who has actually used either the digi002 or dm24 give me some feedback... one thing that bothers me a bit is that the 002 isnt compatible as a control surface for digital performer...
