I just bought a used 4 channel headphone amp from Long & Mcquade to use with my Digi Rack 002 and before I return it I thought I'd ask the experts here for some help. I'm only getting sound out of the left side of the headphones on all 4 slots. Maybe I am not using the right plug. I tested it by plugging in a mono 1/4 inch instrument cable into the Digi Rack 002 headphone input on the front of the 002 and the other end into the headphone amp. Am I using the right cable? If not, what do I need? I only get output to the left ear of the headphones and not in stereo or anything at all to the right side. Defective or am I doing something wrong? Thanks
Mason00, Hello there.. Long & Mcquade ? Where are you ? What model Headphone amp is it ? Ideally you would feed the 1&2 main out or the monitor outs from the back of the 002. This way you'll end up with the 002's headphone out also available . It is very likely that your unit has a separate "L" and "R" input, in that case two single instrument type cable will suffice. If you near me (TO), send me an e-mail and we can talk over the phone if you need further assistance. cheers and good luck,
I'm in Toronto as well. The headphone amp is an APEX AHA4 Four Output Sterero Headphone Amp. It has 1 1/4 Stereo input jack and 4 1/4 Output jacks to plug in 4 sets of headphones. How do I hook it up to my Digi rack 002 to monitor using headphones and what cable is needed from the Digi Rack 002 to the single stereo 1/4 input jack on this headphone amp? I need to know if I'm doing something wrong why I'm only getting sound in the left ear of the headphones or if this unit is defective. Thanks
Hi, In that case, you'll basically need a 1/4" TRS on one end (Apex) branching out to two single 1/4" TS plugs. It's like a long "insert" cable... cheers,
I currently have my Event studio monitors hooked up as well which use the 2 1/4 outputs from the Digi. I do not want to unplug these just to hook up the headphone amp. There must be a way for me to keep my studio monitors hooked up and still hook up this headphone amp. Help
The Event monitors should be connected to the monitor outputs, so they're controlled by the monitor level control. The headphone amp should be connected to main outputs 1 & 2. This leaves your main headphone output available, for when you don't use the headphone amp.
