Part No 23 looks as if it may be an area to look (1315968) as it is a gear of some type, also part 18 (1255359/360) cable which it may drive. hope this is useful to you. Bob

If the srews holding the crank come loose (stripped threads are common) it will seem as if it has stripped teeth. If you push it up hard with one hand and use the other to turn it should work. Mike

Problem solved.. Having taken the crank off, and the little trim panel, the 'winding gearbox' fell apart in my hands, the two screws which hold it together had decided to have a holiday from stress, and unscrewed themselves. Gearbox reassembled, with tight screws and home made loctite (the wif'es clear nail varnish.. DON'T tell her! All working now, thanks for the info all. Alec
