I have a 003 Rack and Rosetta 200. I am trying to set it up so I can use the converters and clock in the Rosetta. I have SPDIF in & out and a word clock cable from the Rosetta into the 003. When I try to select SPDIF inputs and outputs inside PT I get n/a. Please I need some help. Thank you, Al

I'm not completely familiar with the Rosetta 200.....the digital output....is that 2 (s/pdif) or 8 (ADAT-Lightpipe) channels? In your PT setup page, you choose the optical format for either s/pdif OR ADAT (assuming you're using optical, that is!) Or are you using the RCA s/pdif?

I am using SPDIF RCA

And you have the s/pdif input showing up in your i/o on your edit window?

I have chosen the SPIDF in the optical setup and word clock for the clock source. When I go to select the inputs to record, the SPDIF inputs and outputs are n/a.

I may be wrong but doesn't the clock signal get transmitted through s/pdif itself, not requiring the use of a seperate cable? Dan

That's correct, but shouldn't keep the i/o from showing up. Go to your i/o preferences and select "default" & see if that helps.

I set the default ins & outs and they show up but no sound now.

Is there any way to determine if the sound is getting out of the Rosetta? Like can you hook the s/pdif up to a DAT recorder or some other device to see if there's a signal present at the S/pdif output? This also begs the overly-obvious question, (only asking this 'cause I've made this mistake far too many times....) we do have the output of the Rosetta feeding the Input of the 003? Also, are you in input-only monitoring mode?
