Hi- To test this I installed v. 1.2.1.b3 from 10/11/2003. First I apologize. I forgot that DVD2SVCD didn't use VobSub (which makes the idx and sub files), so there is no idx file to edit. So I took out my copy of R1 NTSC LOTR: TTT: EE, and ran it through DVD2SVCD. I couldn't find any Forced Elvish subs on the first of the 2 discs (I don't know about R2, but for R1, the movie is divided among 2 DVDs). Maybe there are some, but I couldn't find them. So I ripped the 2nd DVD and there they were. In the Subtitle Tab I picked my language (English in my case) and checked "Forced", and I got the Elvish and only the Elvish subs. In the Frameserver Tab I ticked "Edit as part of video encoding", and after the audio processing, and just before the video encoding started I was shown the .avs. I opened that in VDubMod, and scrolled around a bit to confirm that the Elvish subs were really there. That should work for you. But if it doesn't for some reason, you can get them into the movie by using VobSub, and adding the VSFilter and the idx into the .avs. If checking the Forced Subs doesn't work, then come back and I can teach you how to get the subs into the movie by using VobSub. It's real easy. But that shouldn't be necessary. Good Luck.
