my system dell optiplex gx150 PIII 933 mhz 256 mb ram nvidia tnt2 16mb graphics card soundMAX integrated digital audio card 10 gb hard drive 30 gb maxtor hard drive sony cd-rw crx140e cdrom windows 98 se digi 001 & pro tools le 5.1.1 i had the digi 001 working properly a month ago then i moved and of course the computer moved as well, then i formatted the hard drives and reloaded the os and other drivers i followed all the instructions in the getting started guide to the T then proceeded to load the digi driver. i also followed the steps in the wavedrivers read me file. and i started getting the error message digi 001 channel 1-2 error 6002 when the sytem boots up. then sometime that error would not come up so i tried to load in pro tools. i still would get the error 6002 message but when i didnt get that i would start up pro tools and when it it tried to load the dae it would freeze up the program. or i would get a erro message dae error 6012. things that i have tried 1.properly removing the driver and reloading it. (several times in different slots) 2.disabling the soundmax card 3.disable the nvidia graphics card 4.disabling the usb ports 5.Choosing "No Sounds" as your Windows sound scheme 6.Disallowing Windows use of the Digi 001 for audio 7. choosing the digi 001 as my preffered device for audio playback and record this one seemed to always make my system freeze and was guaranteed to give me the error 6002 message when i rebooted i am sure i tried other things but i cant remember them now but know matter what i did i would get some sort of error message the thing that doesnt make sense is that the digi 001 was working a month ago before i rebooted my computer. if any one out there has an idea i would liketo hear it
this may help you out. we had a whole lot of errors pop up a while back and found this little tidbit in the answerbase. search for how to manually remove all elements of the pro tools wave driver in safe mode for windows. it took care of the problem for us and it may help you out. p.s. make sure to print it out and always have this on hand in case you need to do it again.
6002 errors are usually soved by choosing "No Sounds" as the Windows sound scheme. You can also tell Windows "do not use audio on this device" in Device Manager for the Digi 001. In the answerbase, there is mention of one case where reseating the PCI card solved a 6002 error situation. Since you physically moved your computer it is quite possible that the card became partially dislodged. While you're at it you should reseat all the PCI cards. Any or all of them could have vibrated partially out of their slots. MAKE SURE THE POWER SUPPLY IS UNPLUGGED when you're seating PCI cards!! You can fry them and the motherboard if you leave it plugged in while doing this! Mike
ok i tried moving the card to every possible slot it did nothing i also tried to choosing "No Sounds" as the Windows sound scheme and telling Windows "do not use audio on this device" in Device Manager for the Digi 001. nothing worked yet. is it possible if i upgrade my computer to windows xp to upgrade my pro tool le and the driver as well for free. and if so will that solve this problem. or will it cause more problems because my digi 001 was made before it was compatible with xp. the only resaon i am still running in windows 98 is that i am more familiar with it and because i that is the only system that i though the digi001 that i bought was compatible with. thanks
well it seemed as though switching the cable around was going to work i was able to loaded my system up with know errors and even start pro tools with no errors then when i opened the demo song i would not play. so in multimedia devices i changed my prefered audio playback and record to the digi 001 and i started getting the errors again. when the demo was loaded up i would push play in the transport screen and not only did i get no audio but the timer would move when i pushed play nothing happened. and when i tried to close the program pro tools crashed. i thought i had it solved but i guess not.
