I posted this in the general forum, but didn't get any response. Perhaps my description was not so clear. Perhaps V4 can do this but I can't find a way so far. Can Reaper do this now? If not, any possible ways to accomplish the same thing?. If it's not obvious, I'm happy to discuss why this is a good feature to have. I'm at a place in one of my projects where this is what needs to happen next. Thanks in advance for any help, I need it.:) James
This is a feature I want badly too! ;) the devs could probably give us it easily There are a few ways to do it now though. You have an action called something like fit and stretch items to time selection that will fit all selected items to the time selection even on multiple tracks which will do what you want. There is also an sws/fingers extension action to adjust in small increments multiple items just like you have shown but by key command and not mouse modifier! :) I would like a mouse version though! :)
Yes, the gif didn't work because imageshack gave me a bad url. So that is sorted. Yes, I've tried and tried to find a way to get Reaper to accomplish this, both in V3 and V4 alpha 26. If I ALT drag an edge of the grouped items, it lengthens or stretches each of the grouped items independently and at different rates somehow related to their length. It detaches them from each other if shortening and makes them overlap more if lengthening. That behavior makes no sense to me. The other thing that can be done in V4 is to apply the same stretch rate property to a group of media items. But that doesn't accomplish the goal because it does not adjust their start positions, merely leaving them where they are. James
