Midi editor track list

Hi I like to change midi item in the midi editor by clicking on the track list but every so often this stops working and the only way I've found to get it going again is to import my config backup. I'm not knowingly changing anything. Any ideas anyone? Thanks.

not a clue why it would do that but have you tried just closing the ME and then dbl clk a diff item in the arrange window to re-open the ME?

Could you perhaps post some screenshots / screencasts?
