I use DVD shrink and DVDDecrypter to create an ISO and then burn with DVD decrypter. I'd say this works about 90 percent of the time. Is there anything newer that is as easy as these two to use. Or what is the most widely used right now. I rarely compress unless it is a kids movie or animated. I see several references to cloneDVD and ANYDVD.
There is not a "single software" solution to backing up DVD's as far as I know. With the proper PSL2 file, DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink can handle any title. As an option, DVD Decrypter, then VOB Blanker to remove the "rubbish" from the ARccOS encryption, then DVD Shrink is equally successful.
I'm a longtime CloneDVD/AnyDVD user and I find them to be ideal. If you don't like compression, CloneDVD can split the dvd across two blanks(something I almost never do myself). They handle all the protections with ease...basically you just wait a couple of hours for Slysoft to update AnyDVD and then you're good to go. You will have to pay for them, but, IMO, they are very much worth it.
@paputzback Hi! Since "SamuriHL" has mentioned commercial programs, I'd suggest to you that my personal favorite (also commercial) is DVD95Copy - Rips, compresses, and burns, is always kept current and has very good support...

Thanks for all the help. I really like the CloneDVD\AnyDVD interface. I might go down that road. I don't compress I jsut shop around for verbatim +R dl to go on sale and if I can't find them on sale I back the file up to my hard drive until I do.
