if you could buy a "real" dvb card (with hardware mpeg2 decoder+dsp), not the nova style cards, you can use some alternative programs like watchtvpro, multidec or windvblive wich all support timed recordings and programming via epg. but these cards are much more expensive :(

sorry, i completely ignored the -t in your post  you are right, these programs are mainly focussed on dvb-s or dvb-c. and as the three i mentioned all came from german developers and you can count the dvb-t user in germany with one hand :D i wouldnt expect a update very soon. but no problem if dvbcontrol can do the job.

Does anyone know where i can buy the technotrends (or clone) dvb-t card in the uk? The only supplier i could find was dvbshop.de and would like to see if there are any others (even if they are abroad) just to see if i can get it any cheaper. Thanks again.

Hi Zhnujm and all, got some info that may be of use to uk based users after the higher spec dvb-t card. First of all don't bother with dvb-shop.de, no answer to emails, do not use credit cards (must use a money transfer!) and no clear invoice/order number to reference your money order!!! Sent email to technotrends, prompt reply that Hauppauge stock all their cards, even if the particular model is not on their website. Quick phone call to Hauppauge UK led to me ordering (by credit card) the Nexus-T card (hardware mpeg2 decoder). It may take a few weeks as these are 'special order' items and there are apparently c.6 other cards on order at the moment. There may be more after this post. Can't wait to build my 'tivo' around this baby!! See you all, thanks. PS - the dvbtv link looks really promising - thanks!
