Well, I ripped the r1 with dvddecrypt, opened up the vts_03_1... vobs in dvd2avi and did a preview... it looked fine. But then I did a save project file, and the timestamp never got past 10 minutes...it just kept playing its own time, going kind of weird. It seems to have pulled the AC3s fine, but the d2v gives me a lovely problem in CCE/vdub/etc when run through Avisynth or vfapi - it simply doesn't seem to have any video frames :( . If I really can't get dvd2avi to process the vobs, is there another method for getting the demuxxed .m2v/vobs into CCE for re-encoding? Thanks
Well, it looks like encoding each cell separately lets me encode with CCE, which is good! Now the question is, when I have all the cells, how do I get maestro to put it back together like it was? I have a list of what cells go with what chapters, in the proper order, but I'm very inexperienced (i.e. no experience) with play lists, and have no idea how to make them/put them together. I wonder if this post is bordering on the far reaches of the dvd2avi topic now -.-

Sorry that I'm not much of help because I've never experienced such a DVD like this so far :o However, if you want to put everything into one piece of movie file, before encoding with CCE, why don't you try to use AviSynth first and put those cell in order. You can watch movie directly with WMP if you install AviSynth correctly. Sorry to tell you a bit late. It seems that you've already encoded every cell. BTW are you trying to make what? SVCD, VCD, or DVD? Hold your work for a little while and try to search a bit more. I've found . Read first, it might help.
I'm trying to do a "simple" DVD9->DVD5 conversion (dvdr as output) [it's not entirely simple anymore!] The biggest problem I'm facing is that all of the multi PGC guides I'm finding are for multi-angle DVDs...though I can glean a small amount of information on perhaps how to go about this task, two titles I've encountered, Enemy at the Gates, and Wonder Boys, have 1 angle...they just chose to have multiple cells in each chapter. Wonder Boys is 40 cells fit into 15 chapters - each cell is used during a normal playback, rather than some being used for one angle or one playback feature (there's only one way to play the movie). It's very strange! I ripped each cell to a separate vob, then opened them all up with dvd2avi and it managed to produce a successful .d2v that would let me encode. I think I'll skip the (much!) harder work of trying to fit the menus back together and just re-author the menus. I'm not exactly sure what I would have to do to get all of the cells separately made in maestro. I really wish I understood why the manufacturers made separate cells though :( Maybe to make it harder for people like me to copy their dvds?
