I'm new to this whole thing and have been trying to mix a cover of a song I did for a couple weeks now. I've played around with a lot of different options, but haven't able to quite get the same kind of sound. Here is the vocals from the song: I'm not even really sure what the effect on the vocal is. I originally thought it was just some kind of reverb, but I haven't found the some kind of sound so far out of all the different kinds of reverb I've been trying. Any advice? To clarify, I'm just talking about at the beginning of the song.

There are all sorts of things going on, different reverbs is just one of them. Notes being played in then background, echo, slight flanging - just experiment and get your own style!

@Never is on the spot. Also a wet automatized delay, and an harmonized second voice in some parts, either recorded or re-harmonized from the original with melodyne or something. The bells are like -12 pitch, something reversed, or midi bells with slow atack, running at low volume, with volume automation, all the track, givin the etheral. In some parts the bells are feeded to de delay for more "etheral feeling"i think. You can here the bells motive clearly at the end.

Thank you so much Never! You mentioned a lot of things I have never heard of before, so I will learn a lot from this.
