I do not own a dvd-burner and a i am tring to get a friend to burn me a dvd of my music vids. Although i am an experienced .avi encoder, i know very little about mpeg and dvd video, so i would like to know, what is the best way to do this? Any guides, links, ect would be great. Thanx (I am just trying to get a few video files, each as its own chapter, with one opening scene that will play before a menu of sorts that will link to the seperate music vids.)

I take it you didn't do a search of this site. IMHO this is the best site on the web for guides and the software links to use them

Yes, you really should There are many, MANY alternative options for achieving your stated aims, but rest assured that there are plenty of simple ones. Arky ;o)

I have looked at the guides to publishing a DVD but they all tell you how to take a DVD source and change it into mpeg and then put it on a DVD, but what i need is to know how to change .avi (xvid) into .mpeg2 so that i can publish that to the dvd. I want to be able to convert the .avi to .mpeg2 with as little loss of quality as i can, and i also need to keep the aspect ratios for all the clips. None of the guides that i have seen, will tell me how to do this. The simpelest method is the best, although quality is more important.
