ReaControlMIDI question

Hello. I'm new here and just getting started with reaper. I hooked up my keyboard (a Yamaha S30) to my computer using a USB midi cable and am using it both to send midi info to Reaper and to play it back. Generally it's working, but ReaControlMIDI is doing something funky when I'm trying to select different patches. Basically, I'm plugging the correct values in the MSB, LSB, and Program slots, and I'm not always getting the correct sound. For example, MSB 63, LSB 0, Program 92 is supposed to be a sound called PowerSynth--think Van Halen Jump. But I do not get that sound when I put in the info. I discovered through trial and error that if I removed the data from the MSB and LSB slots and just put 92 in the program slot, I get the right sound. That's just one example... some sounds work correctly when I put in the correct information, sometimes it plays back an entirely different or incorrect sound. Is there a known issue where ReaControlMIDI is not accessing an external synth's banks correctly, or is it just me? Also, is there another way in reaper to select synth patches or some sort of workaround so I can bypass this problem? I like Reaper, but if it doesn't work correctly with my Keyboard I'll have to look for another DAW. Thanks

some midi gears use the 0/127 scale for banks and programs numbers. others, don't ask me why, use a 1/128 scale. that's why you find a +/- 1 difference.

Ok, so I can select the right sound now, but when I add a second track, the sound of the first track changes to whatever I set the second track for. Also, sometimes the synth doesn't respond to my commands to change sounds at all. And if I close the ReaControlMIDI window and re-open it, the MSB, LSB, and Program slots all become empty. Can someone give me step by step instructions? I'm obviously doing somthing wrong; either that or ReaControlMIDI doesn't work the way it should. I would appriciate any help! Thanks!

I think you need to put both hands into the engine. Open your midi track in the midi editor, event view, and try to understand what is there.

Thanks. Unfortunately, there is nothing in the midi editor that addresses my problem. My problem is how to get the right program select control sent to my keyboard. I'll try to be more specific. Say, for example, I would like to record 4 midi tracks: drums, bass, piano, strings. I would like to use sounds from my external keyboard synth. I have my keyboard connected to my computer through a USB midi cable. I have figured out how to record a track using my music keyboard. I can even record multiple tracks. However, I can only use the same sound for each track. For example, I lets say I record piano first. Then, using ReaControlMIDI, I switch my sound to bass. I do so by changing the MSB, LSB, and program bassed on the program list that came with my keyboard. Sometimes when I plug in these values, I get the correct sound. Sometimes it won't change the sound at all. When it works and when it doesn't seems completely random to me. However, lets say it works and the sound changes to bass. This will also change track one to bass! I want it to remain piano! Each track should have its own control. In fact, I can open a separate window of ReaControlMIDI for each track. However, if I change one, I change all. So my problem is two fold: How can I get my program changes to work consistently, instead of randomly doing nothing, and how can I set each track to a different sound? The documentation for how to do this is nonexistent. If someone is in the know, please help. I have used other digital orchestration software so I do know, in general, what I am supposed to do. However, I cannot figure it out with Reaper.
