I'm getting bad crackles/stuttering/lag when using Record:Midi overdub in existing items. I noticed it yesterday using MDA Piano and Sytrus. I also tried Synth 1 tonight and had the same problems. Interestingly enough, I didn't have the problem when i tried Reasynth. I get the occasional crackle using overdub in 2.53, but nowhere near this bad - and no stuttering/lag that I've noticed.

I noted in a previous preview 5 thread that a certain video playback bug had been fixed but it does not seem to be. I cannot track this one down to a system related codec or setting for the life of me. I will just report what happened. The bug is that when a video file is loaded initially the video screen will always chase to wherever the play head is placed. While scrubbing, jogging and generally moving about it syncs its current frame (as best it can) to the position on the timeline. This is very much the desired behavior. The bug can be observed by simply zooming in until the entire Reaper UI freezes for a moment. On my system this momentary freeze happens at the same zoom level on several different types of videos (.mov, .avi, .mpeg etc.). At the same time the disk access light for the drive containing the video file starts to access continuously and doesn't stop. From that point on the video window will not sync but will hold the last frame it had during transport playback (the video file plays back fine, it just doesn't sync frames while the transport is stopped). The other odd thing is that the video window will pick up whatever is placed over top of it, ie. if I open my firefox web browser over top of Reaper, when I minimize it again the video window will continue to show whatever part of the browser window was directly over top of it until the transport is started again. For a brief time (24 hours or so) after installing preview 5 this did not happen. The video window worked as it should at any zoom level. I'm positive I changed nothing in the system to make it stop working. I have tried both preview 5 and 6 since then with multiple system configuration changes to get it working again but cannot. I also cannot get any other directshow using video related software to exhibit anything similar. I currently use the K-lite codec pack on default settings.

After changing "Global Automation Override" to any of its modes it can't be set off again. NOTE: After setting it off again all tracks/lanes should return to their previous states.

I'm getting a consistent crash when the transport gets to the end of a loop selection (with or without cycle engaged) when Reason 4.01 is in rewire slave mode and there is audio passing from Reason to Reaper. If I have an empty project in Reason it loops fine, or if I remove the rewire plugin it loops fine. All this on the OS X 2.99 pre 6. The 2.53 BETA does not exhibit the same behaviour (haven't tried 2.54 yet). Any other mac users with Reason 4 handy? Bill.

- In 2.99 pre6, with FLS in rewire sync is delayed at each loop. This issue does not appear in 2.54 pre2. - In 2.99 pre6, when selecting items with right-click for rectangle selection, sometimes when selecting just a piece of item, it doesn't work. - Maybe not a reaper issue but Tracks V3 is very slow.

I'd appreciate if one of my fellow midiots can check this, before calling it a bug. When i insert a bank/progamme marker in the relavent cc lane, i have selected bank 0,0, and patch number 48. The banks select ok, but the patch that actually plays is 71. I've tested this with a few different combinations, including different mid sound banks like soundfonts, but the pc transmit from reaper seems to be incorrect, related to the patch number selected. Alex. p.s. This could well be user error, but i've checked all transmit and receive to other apps, and both hardware and software respond correctly.

is this concidence? 48 in Hex = 72 in decimal If the first patch is #00, then the 72nd is #71
