I just got my 001 running and had a quick question. It is working fine for recording and playback in PTLE. I have also successfully used foobar 2000 for listening to MP3's and media player to watch movies... but when i try to watch stuff on youtube there is no sound. in the windows sounds menu, when i open it it says no device! is there some special driver i need to download to be able to get it to appear?

There shouldnt be! You should be able to open up sounds in windows and assign everything to the digidesign. Thats funny that you dont have that. Maybe look through your protools CD'S and software and see if something jumps out at you.

The wavedriver is installed by default on all newer versions of Pro Tools. Unfortunately, the 001 doesn't use any newer version of Pro Tools, and I'm pretty sure you still have to install it manually. (or at least check the box when installing Pro Tools). Make sure you install the wavedriver that matches your version of Pro Tools. Installing different versions can really mess things up. There should be a copy of the wavedriver on your install CD.

i checked the wavedrive box and did a reinstall but still no luck. should it say wavedrive in the installed programs menu? i have tried the digi mme, i tried to add firefox browser to it and when i lauched FF it blue screened. I tried to add VLC media player and it gave sound but was cutting in and out really quickly. windows media player is working fine, as is foobar (using ASIO output, this is a great media player program! not bloated at all!) In the windows sounds menu under the volume tab it says no audio device, but under the audio tab it has the DIGI 001! what gives? i could install my maudio with spdif and run that into the digi 001 but i am afraid it might cause conflicts.
