Hi. I'm new to this board, but not new to ProTools. After years and years of PT on a Mac, I'm now running a PT TDM system on a Windows XP machine (don't ask..it's a looooong story). I have all the Spectrasonics Synth plug ins, as well at B4, Reaktor 4, and Absynth 2. Before I go headfirst into installing these and trying to get them to work, can anyone enlighten me as to possible problems/pitfalls? Thanks! Dave Gross Seattle, WA

Thanks for the welcome, albeit with some VERY bad news for me. The Spectrasonics stuff is a cornerstone of my old Mac system (as well as my Digital Performer System at home). I'm very familiar with the fxPansion stuff. Their VST to AU converter for Mac OSX is great. I was able to use Wizoo's Virtual Guitarist plugins within DP with it! Of course, the Native Instruments stuff isn't working with it yet, so I'm stuck waiting for the official Audio Units versions for home. I'll be anxious for the VST-RTAS adapter. The B-4 workaround will be just fine for the time being. Not having Reaktor and Absynth are gonna blow (especially without having Atmostphere now...) Guess I'll be bugging a few people at NAMM this year, eh? Thanks for the tips, and I'm looking forward to participating in this board. dave

good news to report. The VST-RTAS pre-release version works GREAT on the Spectrasonics Stuff on PTools TDM/Windows XP. I only loaded up Stylus tonight, but I'll check out Trilogy and Atmosphere tomorrow. If I get brave enough...I'll play with some Native Instruments stuff as well. a small, shining light at the end of the tunnel..and it's no longer a train headed my way..
