GUI enhancements: Metering (See my signature), dual panners and surround panners, GUI completely user configurable (elements such as MCP, Video, etc all dockable and resizable anywhere). HUI Protocol fixed properly and/or CMLabs Standard mode protocol implemented. More of the great development currently occurring with takes.

The FR tracker has me pretty much covered. What you've written in this thread has me covered as well. But I do have 3 wishes so I am gonna use them... 1) Routing Improvements in the routing system (tracks, plugins). Better-easier-clearer UI for setting up the routing (e.g. graphical nodes). More flexibility in so-called feedback routing to allow greater freedom e.g. with multi-out VSTis. Specific FRs on routing: a) Tracks retain their routing relationships even if their TCP order is changed b) More flexibility on track<-->parent sends+receives when it comes to MIDI. Track A can send MIDI to track B, and B can send audio to track A, and this is not considered 'feedback' routing. c) Warn or notify the user if actions performed (like re-arranging the tracks) would break existing custom routings. 2) Enhancements for composition and song-writing Anything from chord charts, chord recognition, scales tools, guitar tabs, lyrics. Pattern-based modes, region enhancements, playlist... 3) Bold steps v4 should be a bold step forward and dare to break some familiarity with previous versions in the sake of correcting past flaws or boosting productivity and work flow.
The main important thing for me is : automation items ! ... and also, finally, after four years of requests, one of the easiest things to implement : a correct volume automation curve (exponential).
1. Midi editor tabs, as Sonar, where if you click in a single background note you don't change from clip. 2. Automation Clips. 3. Save piano roll state [named keys, drums] with the track, not for each clip. (4. Phantom Clips or Copy by reference midi clips) Until I don't have those Reaper is useless for me.
You do have 4., but it's halfways there (you need to save ghost file on the disk to be able to do it, the request here is to have ghosted items in-project).
1) Fully automatic hit composing in any style 2) Fully automatic arrangement 3) Fully automatic virtual studio musicians recording for that arrangement 4) Fully automatic mixdown/mastering And if I may add a 5th: 5) 1 to 4 must be automatic batchjobs to create 1000 hits a night.
