One way to confirm an air-leak is to unplug the electric connection to the MAF sensor, then run the engine. If the idle is smooth, you have diagnosed an air leak. Then all you need do is find it.......... Spray around suspect areas, injectors, manifold gasket etc with carb cleaner. The cleaner will temporarily seal the leak & idle will smooth out for a few seconds. I had an air leak on my 480 Turbo. Got so bad it would not run at all. Unplugged the MAF and it ticked over like a smooth thing. Went hunting and found the the turbo intake hose had perished and had completly separated from the intake on the engine LOL!
