I'm sorry for not responding, because I did not fix the problem. I am unable to download the service pack 1 for XP due to a file accessability error :). Is there another way I could update windows so that it will properly operate my 200gig drive? Thanks for all the help.

If you go to Microsoft's home page, they were offering a free update disk (I guess to ease the amount of d/l from their servers). All you have to do is give them your address and they will send it to you. Mac
